Summer Day Camp 2024

Sierra Nevada Journeys will be hosting day camps for elementary-aged students this summer.

Sierra Nevada Journeys, in partnership with Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation, is excited for a series of STEAM-based day camps for youth ages 6-8 years old. Each week Junior Explorers Camp focuses on a different theme. Camps will be held at the Rosewood Nature Study Area, 6800 Pembroke Way, Reno, NV 89502.
Camp runs from 9:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and we’ve got you covered with before and aftercare (8:00-9:15 a.m. and 3:30-5:00 p.m.). Day campers will participate in outdoor exploration, hiking, science, technology, engineering, math, arts, and team building.

Daily schedule:
8:00 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. - Before Care
9:15 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. - Camp Activities
3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. - After Care
Cost: $275 per week and $25 for morning care and $25 for after care. Lunch and snacks are included. We’re looking forward to an amazing summer with you and your budding explorers.

Wacky Weather
June 17 - 21: Calling all meteorologists! Explore Nevada’s wild weather, along with tornadoes, volcanoes, hurricanes, and extreme weather from around the world.
Environmental Engineers
June 24 - 28: Gear up for the great outdoors! Take a deeper look at ecology, Nevada ecosystems, and learn to solve environmental problems like an engineer.
Tiny Wonders
July 1 - 5: Bugs, bugs, bugs! Learn about bugs, bees, insects, and all of Nevada’s crawling critters.
Botanical Buddies
July 8 - 12: Grow your garden of curiosity! Investigate plants, trees, and the natural wonders of the Northern Nevada region.
Art in Nature
July 15 - 19: Let your creativity bloom! Explore the wildlife and connect with the environment around you to find the beauty in Nevada nature and science.
