Support STEM Education
In 2006, our founder was asked by a student looking at Lake Tahoe, “Are there sharks in this ocean?” At that moment, he knew that we needed to do more to provide STEM and outdoor environmental education for our youth.
Since then, more than 330,000 students have explored the science of the natural world through our outdoor education programs. Along the way, they’ve experienced moments of wonder, curiosity, and discovery — the “aha” moments that deepen their connection to nature and their confidence as young scientists.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, philanthropic support helps us serve about 30,000 students each year, allowing them to explore the great outdoors and find their unique connections to nature. Most of our students come from underserved communities across Northern Nevada and Northern California.
We are asking parents, family members, teachers, nature enthusiasts, and donors like you to consider making a donation to help the next generation of students experience the joy of discovery for themselves.
Sierra Nevada Journeys is proud to be a GuideStar nonprofit.
