Our week-long Overnight Summer Camp offers youth an unforgettable outdoor experience that blends classic camp fun with meaningful personal growth. Campers spend Sunday afternoon through Friday morning immersed in nature at our Outdoor Education Camp in Portola, California, just 50 minutes northwest of Reno and two hours from Sacramento.

Through hands-on adventures like kayaking, hiking, high ropes, archery, and campfires, campers build confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills in a safe, supportive environment. Social-emotional learning is woven throughout the experience, encouraging collaboration, communication, and a strong sense of community.

Programs are tailored by age to meet campers where they are and support their development at every stage.

Jump into summer fun with our Day Camp, where campers experience the adventure, creativity, and discovery of a Sierra Nevada Journeys program in a day camp setting. We offer week-long, STEM-based sessions for children ages 6 to 12 in Reno, NV, and Sacramento, CA.

Led by our experienced educators and camp counselors, campers enjoy daily themed STEM activities, hands-on nature exploration, water play, and time to choose their own activities. Each week features a unique theme, keeping camp fresh, engaging, and fun. With small groups and a low camper-to-staff ratio, every child receives personalized attention in a safe, supportive environment.

Sierra Nevada Journeys invites you to a one-of-a-kind weekend, Girls in STEM Camp, designed to spark curiosity, confidence, and connection. Campers build new friendships and challenge themselves on our renowned adventure course, with opportunities to climb the Alpine Tower or zip through the skyline. Along the way, they’ll discover just how exciting science can be.

Thanks to our generous supporters, Girls in STEM Camp is free, with a nominal $20 registration fee. Accommodations, meals, and all programming are included. The camp takes place at our beautiful 1,500-acre Outdoor Education Camp, located just an hour north of Truckee, CA, featuring modern facilities and endless space to explore and learn.
