Volunteers: It Takes a Community

Volunteers are an essential part of the Sierra Nevada Journeys community. In 2025, 2,960 parents, guardians, teachers, and community members volunteered their time to support hands-on science and outdoor learning. Parents and guardians chaperoned field trips and overnight camp experiences, while middle school, high school, college, and community volunteers helped make Family STEM Nights possible. Together, our staff and volunteers create meaningful opportunities for students across the region to explore, discover, and connect with the outdoors.
