Science Educator
Mariah is excited to be part of the Sierra Nevada Journeys team. She is driven by her passion for science and the environment. Mariah indulges her interest in mycology — the scientific study of fungi — and citizen scientist by foraging for fungi in the forest and honing her species identification skills. Mariah is also an ardent adventure seeker. She enjoys activities like four-wheeling, white water rafting, and traveling. In her academic journey, Mariah studies encompass watershed science, mushroom biology, human evolution, geology, computer coding and neuroscience. Her diverse interests include photography, volunteering, playing video games and cooking risotto.
