Maddy has spent all her life in Reno, Nevada, and loves her hometown immensely. She believes in the importance of community and plans to share the beauty of all she got to experience in childhood with her own family someday. In her free time, she loves to frequent local markets, volunteer with other local organizations, and continue exploring the Nevada landscape with her husky, Honeybear.
Maddy is deeply dedicated to outdoor education and with a fervent love for the outdoors, she brings a wealth of experience to our programs. With more than five years spent teaching preschoolers, Maddy has honed her skills in creating dynamic and engaging learning environments that foster curiosity and exploration in children. Her dedication to outdoor classrooms stems from a belief in the transformative power of nature in education, where children can learn through hands-on experiences in the natural world. In joining Sierra Nevada Journeys, Maddy is stoked to merge her love for teaching with her life-long passion for sustainability. Her enthusiasm for instilling environmental awareness in student shines through as she seeks to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.
