Core Educator
Lauren has always had a passion for science and the natural world. She began by endless hours of exploration in the Kansas countryside, then drawing and painting in nature, and later by earning her Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Studio Art in 2015 from Baker University. After being introduced to the wild beauty of Big Sur, Lauren made the journey out to Monterey California in 2018.
In 2020 Lauren got her start in teaching by running the art program at Mixed Greens Preschool, embracing the challenges of the pandemic and igniting a love for education, art and exploration. As a naturalist artist with science and positive community impact never far from her aspirations, Lauren began her new journey as a PT Science Educator with SNJ and recently accepted a position as a Core Educator with the Sacramento office. She is looking forward to growing and learning in her role and is excited to bring STEM science education and showcase potential career paths to the students of the greater Sacramento area.
