Sheena Wong

Residential Outdoor Science Instructor

Sheena had a small town upbringing in southern Louisiana, where she lived for 14 years before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area. She attended San Francisco State University and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism. Throughout her time in college, she worked and volunteered her time at the California Academy of Sciences, cultivating her love for the natural world and the joys of discovery. Following college, she combined her passion for knowledge and working with youth as a Junior Ranger Instructor in a partnership between the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy and the National Park Service.

Most recently, Sheena graduated from the Outdoor Educators Institute, a program focused on diversifying the field of outdoor education and connecting youth with nature, regardless of ethnic and socioeconomic background. Sheena strives to spark an interest in stewardship for the earth by creating meaningful experiences in nature and sharing her excitement and love for the outdoors.

Whenever possible, Sheena enjoys wildflower hikes, riding her bike, learning about birds, meeting new minds, and making new friends.
