Emily Rosa

Outdoor Program Instructor

My name is Emily Rosa and I am an Outdoor Program Instructor. I've recently moved to Portola, CA with my spouse. We moved from Yellowstone National Park where I was lucky enough to call home for the past five years. I’ve previously worked as a security guard in the hospitality industry, as a 9-1-1 public safety dispatcher for the National Park Service, and as a tour guide for the nonprofit Yellowstone Forever. I enjoy hiking, kayaking, white-water rafting, and cross-country skiing in the winter. I have a special place in my heart for small rodents and lagomorphs, traveling, wildflowers, gemstones, and plants in general. My family consists of my wife, two dogs, a cat, and a bunny (the lagomorph). The rest of my family lives in Texas, which is where I received my bachelor’s in Anthropology. I’m super interested in the intersection of how humans interact with the natural environment.

Two truths and a lie:

  • I’ve rafted through the Grand Canyon

  • I’ve seen bigfoot in real life

  • My favorite pizza topping is pineapple
