July 6 - 18, A Two-Week Camp

Counselors-in-Training is an elevated leadership opportunity for high school students. Counselors-in-Training will participate in our traditional summer camp activities and training sessions focused on childhood development, behavior management, and activity facilitation to hone the skills necessary to be a summer camp counselor. Counselors-in-Training put these skills into practice through mentoring, observation, and hands-on work as they join alongside a cabin group during a Camp Classics session. There will also be an opportunity to adventure off-camp to the Lost Sierra region to bond with your fellow Counselors-in-Training. At the end of this program, you will have set yourself up for success to join the Summer Camp Counselor team in the future.

 Previous summers at Sierra Nevada Journeys is not a prerequisite for Counselors-in-Training.

The Leaders-in-Training are teens who want to have a unique camp experience. Through outdoor skill development and team building on the challenge course, teens will have opportunities to practice skills to be confident leaders. In addition to our traditional camper favorite activities, an Open Space Planning session at the beginning of the week will allow your group to design experiences only bound by your creativity.
