Make a Difference When You Volunteer
You don't need a degree in science to make a difference in science education. We have volunteers from all walks of life and all backgrounds: parents, teachers, foresters, bankers, Rotarians and more. Whether you join us for a few hours or a few years, we are very grateful to everyone who joins the Sierra Nevada Journeys' mission.
If you do not see an opportunity that interests you below, please get in touch with Michael Casale (Reno) or Natalie Pritchard (Sacramento), our volunteer coordinators and teacher extraordinaires, and they'll work with you to find an opportunity around your skills and availability.
Help us engage families with science.
We’ve had groups like Rotary Clubs and Wells Fargo branches volunteer as teams or individually. The time commitment is approximately two hours in the evening. Volunteers help parents and students engage in basic science exploration. More details here.
