WEEK 4 & 5: JULY 7 - 19 (TWO-WEEK SESSION); Full for Girls; OPEN FOR BOYS
Ages 16 - 17 | Price: $1,399
Have you ever dreamed of what it’s like to be a Sierra Nevada Journeys counselor or instructor? Join us for two weeks this summer as a Counselor-in-Training (CIT). You will spend your time on team building activities on our challenge course, gaining confidence in leading and teaching younger campers, and developing skills that are important for future leadership opportunities. CITs will work with our Residential Outdoor Science Instructors to gain the skills needed to work with children, learning how to plan and facilitate team building for youth, and leading environmental education activities. With your peers by your side and CIT staff as mentors, head off campus for a weekend adventure of camping in Yosemite National Park and volunteering on conservation projects within the park. At the completion of this program, participants may receive up to 30 hours of community service and a letter of recommendation. Put your years of camp experience to the test and join our Counselor-in-Training program!
Note: While on campus, campers will be staying in ground level tents with other campers of the same gender. The bathrooms (portable restrooms) are a short walk away from the tents.Campers will have access to hot-water showers and flush toilets in the nearest building (less than 80 yards away). This centrally located unit also has its own fire pit and picnic tables.
