Studying Geology at the University of Rochester sparked Deb’s love of field trips and of learning and teaching outside. She has led outdoor science programs since 1994, through natural history museum outreach, experiential education centers, summer camps and trips programs throughout the United States. Deb loves the variety of subjects and ages that she has worked with, from Pre-K to graduate students and family groups. Learning the diverse ecosystems has been a much-enjoyed challenge, from the bedrock up! Deb and her husband Brian are appreciating the Great Basin’s landscape and history. She is a certified master outdoorsman in wilderness navigation and advanced signs and tracks and is a member of the Geological Societies of Nevada and New Hampshire. Summers, Deb is the Associate Head of Nature Programs at Camp Pemigewassett, in New Hampshire. Deb is grateful to continue her classroom and field teaching career, as part of the multi-disciplinary Sierra Nevada Journeys education program.
