Corrie is from Maui, Hawaii, but has lived most of her life in Reno, Nevada. At a young age, Corrie was exposed to numerous outdoor activities and grew passionate for environmental stewardship. This led her to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from the University of Nevada, Reno. Upon interning with Sierra Nevada Journeys, she realized that educating our youth is the way she could make a difference in protecting the environment.
Corrie has worked with children for about 10 years in various capacities including coaching the ski team at Mt. Rose ski resort and teaching piano lessons. With her passion for the environment and working with children, Sierra Nevada Journeys was a dream job for Corrie. She became a field intern with Sierra Nevada Journeys in the fall of 2015, gradually increased her time with Sierra Nevada Journeys, and is now thrilled to take on the position of part-time educator.
Corrie loves doing just about anything outside especially when she’s in the company of her friends and family. When she’s not in the classroom or the field with students, Corrie is likely traveling, hiking, skiing, or doing yoga.
