Sean Wicks grew up in Westfield, New Jersey, which is about 20 miles outside of New York City. He attended the University of Texas where he double majored in sustainable geography and urban studies.
After graduating in 2013, he left Austin and moved across the country to Washington to work his first outdoor education job. He instantly fell in love with outdoor education and in 2015 moved back to New Jersey to work at a camp. In 2016, he moved across the country again to come work as a Residential Outdoor Science Instructor for Sierra Nevada Journeys.
In his second year at Sierra Nevada Journeys, he has held various roles. He has spent time as Grizzly Creek Ranch's Master Instructor, Summer Camp Logistics Coordinator and currently, he is a Programs Coordinator and Instructor.
When he's not working, he loves going for hikes, camping, fishing, playing board games, and participating and watching all sports.
