Olive Poulsen

Program Coordinator/Instructor

Olive uses her excitement for the world around her to introduce students to the outdoors. Growing up in Reno, Olive was shaped by her fascination in nature and her experiences in Girl Scouts to become an outdoor educator. Olive graduated from the University of Utah in 2013 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Parks, Recreation and Tourism with an emphasis in Outdoor and Adventure Programs. After graduating, she worked at multiple outdoor schools before joining Sierra Nevada Journeys in March 2016 as a Residential Outdoor Science Instructor (ROSI). Olive loves having the opportunity to spend time with her students and meaningfully impact their experience in the outdoors. In addition to being a ROSI, during the summer Olive is Sierra Nevada Journeys’ CIT Director.

When Olive is not making the world a better place, she enjoys hiking, petting cats, drinking hot tea and spending time with friends and family.
