Ben grew up in the suburbs of Chicago where he developed a love for the outdoors from family camping trips, his time as a Cub/Boy Scout, and playing whatever games he could outside with his friends.
Ben left the Midwest to attend college at North Carolina State University where he studied Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management with a minor in Biological Sciences. During his time in college, he started working with children by volunteering with the school programs of the local arboretum and the NC Museum of Natural Sciences. Since college, he has spent time working outdoor education programs off the coast of North Carolina, in the San Bernardino Mountains, at the beaches of Malibu, and in the San Francisco Bay. When not working, Ben can be found backpacking, rock climbing, or riding his bike.
While Ben loved his time near the ocean, he is excited to be returning to the mountains, especially the Sierra Nevada, to support staff in providing positive and educational outdoor experiences for all children.
