Angie Gornik

Summer & Specialty Camps Manager

Angie was born and raised in Minnesota where she spent her childhood running around her backyard barefoot. While growing up, Angie attended summer camp in Southern Minnesota where she was a junior counselor and dreamed of becoming a camp counselor.

Angie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Spanish from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. While attending college her love for travel was igniting as she explored Ecuador, Louisiana, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Over summer break, Angie had the opportunity to fulfil her dream of being a camp counselor at the camp she grew up attending.

After completing college, Angie travelled west to work as an Outdoor Education Instructor in Southern California and as a Naturalist at a summer camp near Eugene, Oregon. Nature exploration, outdoor adventure, and the laughter of students became an integral part of her life and led her to pursue her Master of Science in Environmental Education from Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon. During graduate school, Angie supervised after school programs, interned on a farm, learned all the conifers of Southern Oregon, and explored numerous forests and creeks.

Angie is stoked to have found an organization that allows her to share her passion for camp, love for the outdoors, and work summer camp year-round. In her free time, Angie loves to read, hammock, drink coffee, hike, kayak, play cribbage, visit national parks, and care for her house plants.
