Natalie grew up in Sacramento, CA with the Sierra Nevada mountains in her backyard. She later attended California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo and received a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a minor in Biology.
Her love for science and the outdoors brought her to an Outdoor Science Camp in Running Springs, CA. As an Outdoor Educator she guided hands-on, engaging, and inquiry based science lessons to a variety of elementary school students.
Continuing to pursue her passion for educating youth, she attended California State University Sacramento to obtain her Multiple-Subject Teaching Credential. After receiving her credential, she taught third grade for two years at a local Sacramento charter school. In search of finding a way to bring more science and outdoor education to Sacramento public schools, she found her way to Sierra Nevada Journeys.
In her free time Natalie enjoys hanging out with her dog, practicing yoga, backpacking, and exploring different swimming holes throughout California.
