Megan Hollenbeck grew up in the mountains of Breckenridge, CO where she developed a love for the outdoors and exploring nature at a young age. In her free time, she skis, hikes and mountain bikes.
After studying Natural Sciences with a Concentration in Biology Education at Colorado State University, she became a middle school science teacher. Part of her responsibilities included planning a trip for her students to an outdoor science school in the mountains. This experience helped to mold her passion of getting kids into the outdoors to learn science and explore the natural world around them. She transitioned to instructing at an outdoor science school in Colorado where she taught school groups, led groups of summer counselors, and worked as the Staff and Logistics Manager of the school.
Megan is excited to be in a new area of the country, learning a new ecosystem, exploring, and bringing outdoor education to even more kids at Sierra Nevada Journeys.
