Born and raised in Santa Rosa, CA, Jessie spent a lot of her time hiking, biking and exploring Sonoma County. After attending summer camps and several backpacking trips in nature with family, friends and in organized groups, she came to realize that educating youth in beautiful outdoor settings is an area where she can give back to others. With this in mind, she went to Humboldt State University to pursue a degree in Environmental Education and Interpretation.
After graduation, she was a snowboard instructor in South Lake Tahoe for a season, and then landed at Sierra Nevada Journeys for the summer and fall of 2015. The year of 2016 she traveled to Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Colombia and Peru to learn Spanish and volunteer with youth. Now she is excited to be back at Sierra Nevada Journeys for another wonderful season as a Residential Outdoor Science Instructor.
