Wondrous Women of Science

In Wondrous Women of Science, 7th and 8th grade girls go on a journey of discovery in their own schoolyard, becoming animal detectives, meteorologists, plant, and rock specialists. Students will work together to accomplish group challenges and team building activities, and ultimately design their own service learning project.

During the summer, students have the option of going an a 3 day 2 night backpacking trip on the Tahoe Rim Trail where they will learn to build trail, use a map & compass, shelter build, and put their WWS knowledge to use!

During the 8 week after school program, you can expect:

Water, Animals and Rocks…OH MY!
Not to mention air, soil, plants, and fire. If you can find it on Earth, we study it!

Future Problem Solving
All you need is a good team, a bad problem, and a brain in working order for this one!

Teambuilding
Forget going solo! Have fun playing games and doing group challenges with your friends!

Women in Science
Come and meet some real woman in science – everything from biologists to water specialists, you’ll be amazed to see where science can take you!
