Mission NGSS

Free to the first 60 K-8th grade educators!

Join us as we blast off to camp and learn how to incorporate Next Generation Science Standards into your classroom through the lens of energy and the environment. We will simulate a Mission to Mars and will need to identify basic life support systems in order to survive. This hands-on weekend workshop will explore the complexities of energy as it relates to NGSS.

Mission NGSS will take place at our Grizzly Creek Ranch Campus. You will receive 2 nights shared accommodation in a heated bunk and all meals and snacks throughout the weekend are included. In addition, participants will receive 1 in-service credit through the Nevada Department of Education.

This weekend workshop is offered through a collaboration of Desert Research Institute, Sierra Nevada Journeys, Washoe County School District, RPDP of Northern Nevada, Project Learning Tree, and EnergySmart Education (sponsored by NV Energy and Southwest Gas Corporation).
