Ted Oleson, Co- Founder, Board President

Ted was profoundly affected by the “OB Club”, an after-school science group he became a part of in middle-school and worked with through his teenage years. He has been a Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Nevada-Reno for more than 20 years and has served as Executive Director of Non-Profits in Reno but has retained that connection to the outdoors through numerous excursions to the Sierras and beyond.

Kimberly Somma, Board Secretary

Kimberly worked for a global management consulting and systems implementation firm for a number of years after college. Following a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail in 2003 she transitioned her career to begin working with overweight youth. She is currently combining her passions for the outdoors and healthy living by working as the Director of Wellspring New York, a camp dedicated to helping youth make dramatic lifestyle changes through Nutrition Education, Activity Managment, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy programs. For fun and relaxation Kim enjoys running, hiking, rock climbing, yoga and playing with her dogs.

Dave Stockman, Board Treasurer

Dave has always enjoyed the outdoors and academia. He has spent many days and nights in the Desolation Wilderness, hiked the John Muir Trail, climbed a few Fourteeners, and attended the Outward Bound School of the Pacific Crest. He also enjoyed his time as a substitute teacher and as a mentor at the Boys and Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe. His degree is a BA in Environmental Biology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Currently, he manages operations of the Stillwater Foundation and serves as President of the Board of Directors. Most of his free time is spent golfing on nice days, snowboarding the steep and deep, cooking a good meal or reading an interesting book.

Ricci Rodriguez-Elkins, Board Member

Ricci is an Associate/Project Specialist with Stark & Associates Commercial Real Estate. Her specialty is in educational and special purpose facilities and is committed to providing a highly responsive and efficient consultancy to assist clients in acquiring, designing, constructing/renovating, financing and managing special use facilities. She also has twelve years of experience working with public charter schools and is a nationally recognized educational consultant, founder of the Center For Charter School Development, and is acknowledged by her peers as a leader in the industry. Ricci also holds a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and Supervision with a focus on Business from Arizona State University.

Stephanie Lefevre, Board Member

Stephanie was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee and moved away to attend college directly after graduating from Girls Prepatory School in 1993. She graduated from the University of Montana in 1997 with a degree in Liberal Studies and Environmental Studies. Stephanie Lived in Missoula, Montana for another two years, serving as an AmeriCorps member with the Montana Conservation Corps and learning a variety of skills that have become an important part of her career today. Stephanie began her masters degree in Portland, Oregon with a joint program between Pacific University and the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry in 2002. She completed the program through a distance learning option at Prescott College and holds her Master of Arts in Teaching and Science with a teaching endorsement. Stephanie is also the founder of the Nevada Outdoor School.
