Sierra Nevada Journeys is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which was incorporated in December 2006.  In April of 2007, Sierra Nevada Journeys became an “Approved Educational Vendor” for Washoe County School District, a designation which allows schools to use grant money for programs offered by the organization. Sierra Nevada Journeys is the leading provider of experiential education in the greater Reno/Lake Tahoe area, with programs stretching across both sides of the Nevada/California border.  Sierra Nevada Journeys believes strongly in providing students not only with academic enrichment, but also the opportunity to become leaders and responsible caretakers of our natural world.  Sierra Nevada Journeys adheres to its’ mission through a variety of in-school, after-school, summer, and residential offerings.  Each program focuses on hands-on, inquiry based, and place based education principles, while addressing multiple intelligences.
