Let the Summer Programs Begin!

We finished up the Journeys Outdoor School (JOS) spring season with Jessie Hall and Rio Linda the week of June 10. Grizzly Creek Ranch Campus staff had a great time with both of the schools and their superb students. While the weather was cooperating, the students participated in collaborative problem solving and teambuilding activities on our Challenge Course, overcoming obstacles and climbing to new heights. These students will never forget their experiences at Journeys Outdoor School.

Campus staff have been gearing up for the transition into summer programs! The Rotary Youth Leadership Association (RYLA) has been on Campus since last week and will continue their visit through the end of this week. Our first Youth Backcountry Leadership Program departed yesterday (Sunday) with teens backpacking along the Pacific Crest Trail for 6-days and 5-nights. Next week will kick off our first week of Summit Camp and Adventure Day Camp. We hope you are as excited as we are for all of our upcoming programs this summer- stay tuned for more info!

Something you should know about me:

I was first introduced to Sierra Nevada Journeys as an undergraduate student. I participated in several workshops during my time as a student. After graduation I was hired to work on our campus in Portola, CA. At the end of the summer I joined the staff in the Reno office as an Experiential Educator. I enjoy working with SNJ for the opportunity to work with a variety of student populations and the chance to teach curriculum focusing on scientific concepts.  The work environment is always positive and encouraging. My role at SNJ is providing me with numerous opportunities and tools to accomplish my personal and
