Teepee Takeover!
Posted on July 7th, 2010 by Jamie
Session Four has started with some of the most beautiful weather of the summer! To change up the camp scene the boys have taken over the Teepees and the girls are located in the Blue Village!
After first day opening night hike, day two was spent building team spirit and making friends. During the day all campers spent much of the day working on group initiatives and the Challenge Course, working through the “Wall of Adventure”, zooming into the air on the “Flying Squirrel” and speeding through the tree tops on the “Zip Line”. All campers achieved their own personnel challenge goals for the day. Mathew aged 12 “Today was Awesome! It was all about conquering our fears, working together and feeling good about ourselves” Tonight will be shelter building and and counselors and campers will continue to work on building those relations.

Something you should know about me:
I was first introduced to Sierra Nevada Journeys as an undergraduate student. I participated in several workshops during my time as a student. After graduation I was hired to work on our campus in Portola, CA. At the end of the summer I joined the staff in the Reno office as an Experiential Educator. I enjoy working with SNJ for the opportunity to work with a variety of student populations and the chance to teach curriculum focusing on scientific concepts. The work environment is always positive and encouraging. My role at SNJ is providing me with numerous opportunities and tools to accomplish my personal and
caeegoals.
