I caught my first fish!
Posted on June 29th, 2010 by Jamie
Today was one of the hottest days of the summer, but the breeze was amazing and the pond made the heat seem non-existent. Students were able to go fishing and kayaking in the pond today. For many students, it was their first time fishing and, for even more students, their first fish!
On the other hand, there were some students that challenged the weather and headed out on a hike through the campus forest to try and summit a local peak. Students reported the hike to be “awesomely awesome!”
To wrap-up the day students had a pizza dinner and the opportunity to relax and watch an evening movie. Ice Age was the choice and seemed to be a great complement to a rather warm day.
Summit camp session 3 is half-way through with already so many memories…don’t worry campers, there is still much more to come!

Something you should know about me:
I was first introduced to Sierra Nevada Journeys as an undergraduate student. I participated in several workshops during my time as a student. After graduation I was hired to work on our campus in Portola, CA. At the end of the summer I joined the staff in the Reno office as an Experiential Educator. I enjoy working with SNJ for the opportunity to work with a variety of student populations and the chance to teach curriculum focusing on scientific concepts. The work environment is always positive and encouraging. My role at SNJ is providing me with numerous opportunities and tools to accomplish my personal and
caeegoals.
