First Full Day of Session 3
Posted on June 28th, 2010 by Jamie
Today started off as the first full day of Session 3 of Summit Camp. Campers were yawning after a night hike exploration last night and had a huge breakfast waiting when they arrived at the dining hall at 8am. The day started off with kickball, and swimming. Campers learned about outdoor living skills where they took creek water and turned it into drinking water by making a fire and boiling it. Since it was so hot campers loved pouring water over the heads. The afternoon activities were kayaking, fishing, and making art out of clay in the activity center. Tonight campers look forward to making their own ice cream! What a full day of fun for Sierra Nevada Journeys Campers.

Something you should know about me:
I was first introduced to Sierra Nevada Journeys as an undergraduate student. I participated in several workshops during my time as a student. After graduation I was hired to work on our campus in Portola, CA. At the end of the summer I joined the staff in the Reno office as an Experiential Educator. I enjoy working with SNJ for the opportunity to work with a variety of student populations and the chance to teach curriculum focusing on scientific concepts. The work environment is always positive and encouraging. My role at SNJ is providing me with numerous opportunities and tools to accomplish my personal and
