Are we ready? BORN READY!

Hey friends!

Our hike yesterday was amazing! We got to see bear tracks, all sorts of animal scat, and the view from the top was, of course, phenomenal.

And you know who likes playing with our newest staff member Schmitty (see rubber chicken below)? Everyone. Everyone loves Schmitty!

NO ORT! This table along with a couple others have had no ort. We are excited to be able to conserve ENERGY *buzzzzzzz* this week by not wasting food and water in the dining hall!

During yesterday’s open rec we enjoyed archery, ultimate frisbee, and horseshoes. This afternoon we are going to play some ping pong, do some arts and crafts, and hit archery again!

With all of this fun that we are having, it’s hard to believe that we are learning about Buckminster Fuller’s hair brained idea’s about triangles and Bernoulli with his physics! When we get home we can show you because we’ve been writing and drawing all about it in our journals!

We are getting really excited because tonight is the campfire! We’ve been practicing our skits all week and can’t wait to show them to everyone!

Go play outside!

Something you should know about me:

I was first introduced to Sierra Nevada Journeys as an undergraduate student. I participated in several workshops during my time as a student. After graduation I was hired to work on our campus in Portola, CA. At the end of the summer I joined the staff in the Reno office as an Experiential Educator. I enjoy working with SNJ for the opportunity to work with a variety of student populations and the chance to teach curriculum focusing on scientific concepts.  The work environment is always positive and encouraging. My role at SNJ is providing me with numerous opportunities and tools to accomplish my personal and
